While Pastor Robert & several other men were away at a Men’s Retreat, we were led in worship by the Van Horn and Patterson children. THANKS & WELL DONE to the kids and parents!
Emma Van Horn was the worship leader, including prayer & share time.
Lily Van Horn gave a great sermon titled “Worship – What Does It Mean?” based on John 4:21-24.
Josiah Van Horn, Ava Van Horn, and Cora Patterson helped with the Scout & Scamper puppet show for the Children’s Time (but it was Adults sitting in the front pews as well as collecting the money for the Building Up the Temple offering which the children usually do!).
Cora Patterson helped take the microphone around for the Prayer & Share time. ALL of the kids (plus Chris Van Horn) did a great time leading the Praise Time part of the worship service. Thanks all!
Here’s a link to a video of the service.

We had a guest speaker on Sabbath, September 29, 2018 when Pastor Robert was out sick. It was a pleasure to welcome Pastor Steve Merold to fill in giving a sermon titled “Can We All Get Along?” based on the scripture Mark 9:38-50.
The sermon for September 22, 2018 was titled “Two Kinds of Wisdom” and was based on the scripture in James 3:13-18.
You can see & hear the sermon here.
Continuing from the book of James, here is the sermon from September 15, 2018 based on James 3:1-12.

See if you can pick out these 3 main points. To tame the tongue, we must recognize . . . 1) that we will be held accountable for what we say, 2) its power for good or for evil, and 3) that it is a humanly untamable source of terrible evil. And hear the practical hope that James brings!
The September 8, 2018 message by Pastor Robert is titled “Are We Justified by Works?” based on the scripture James 2:20-26.
