VBS Coming Soon — June 16-20, 2014

VBS  is coming soon and we’re very excited!  We will be using “It’s a King Thing!” materials published by David C. Cook to study different Kings & Queens from the Bible each night from 6:45 to 8:30 pm.  Come learn about Saul, David, Solomon, Esther, and Nehemiah.   There will be lots of fun and activities, plus special guest appearances by puppets Lady Legomutton and Chester the Jester.  Lots of summer fun that Preschool thru Elementary kids will love!

Tim Lawton from our church will be spending this summer touring the eastern United States with the Stained Glass musical group.  Tim will be traveling with 6 other young adults (Gabriela Alonzo, Jennifer Brown, Karissa St. Clair, Khalen Greene, Logan LaGesse, Nathan Crowder) providing sound system support and occasionally percussion as needed.   Stained Glass is a part of the Summer Christian Service Corps (SCSC) ministry of the Seventh Day Baptist Women’s Society.  When asked how he got interested in Stained Glass, Tim said, “I’d always wanted to do SCSC and found they needed a sound guy and it sounded like a perfect match.”  It has been a great match and this will be Tim’s fourth summer in Stained Glass!  Tim has traveled with the singing group all across the US and visited many Seventh Day Baptist churches, but have yet to get to the churches in Florida and Toronto.

Tim is a regular attender at Pataskala SDB church and plays the percussion in the Praise Band.

When asked what important things he has learned as part of Stained Glass, Tim said “it’s not about us individually, or even the band as a group…it’s about God.”  So what are Tim’s thoughts as he finishes out the school year as an engineering student at Cedarville University?  He said, “I’m looking forward to this summer because we’ve got almost a completely different band and a different sound – but it will be an awesome summer and God will still do stuff like he always does!”

Please be in prayer for these young adults as they prepare for this ministry!
