Do you want to hear some good news today . . . news that could change your life forever? Well, here it is . . . “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Wow! What could be better than that! A gift from the Creator of the universe! But, what are you saying? It’s not your birthday? or Christmas? You don’t deserve it? You aren’t good enough? Well no, you aren’t good enough. No one is. But here is some more good news: God already knows all about you and your failures – your SINS – and they don’t matter to Him as much as you do.
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:6-8)
Did you get that? “WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US”!!! Don’t wait until you are “good enough” to accept the gift God has for you – God prepared that gift for each of us, knowing how wretched each of us is. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that might be true for other people, but God doesn’t know how really bad you are. He knows!
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” (Jeremiah 1:5)
King David, who had murder as just one of the sins against his name, recognized this about God.
“You have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.” (Psalm 139: 1-4)
Yes, He knows. But remember this about God.
“… The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)
He knows you, and yet He loves you. He has a gift for you and all you have to do is believe Him and accept it.
“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:30- 31)
“…Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven…” (Acts 2:38)
The Choice Is Yours!
1. Agree with God you are a sinner
2. Ask God’s forgiveness
3. Believe Jesus died for your sins
“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life .” Deuteronomy 30:19
Dear Jesus, I have sinned against God and You. I confess my sins to you right now and ask your forgiveness. I ask you, Jesus, to come into my life and be the Lord and King of my life. Please fill me with your love and give me a new mind so I can live my life in your will. Thank you, Jesus, AMEN.
