Money collected, presents bought, gifts wrapped, packages delivered . . . Our church’s Christmas Outreach project has been completed! Starting back in July, our weekly “Building Up the Temple” mission offering for 3Q/2017 was allocated for Christmas Outreach. For the second year, we teamed up with the
We applied and were provided names, ages, sizes, etc. for two local families enrolled in the program through the Salvation Army. Shirley Pest and Veronica Van Horn made a GREAT shopping team! They scoured the stores and came up with great gifts for all. We were able to provide pajamas, hat & scarf, boots, two toys, and a filled stocking for each of the children on our list. Each family also received some gift cards to use for holiday food.
The next step found Susie Fox wrapping the gifts, adding name tags, and filling the stockings with all the things Veronica & Shirley purchased! Per the program guidelines, each family’s wrapped gifts were then placed in bags labeled with their “Adopt-A-Family” number.
On Thursday, December 14, 2017, Dean & Susie Fox delivered the bags of gifts to the
Lots of fun, great food, and plenty of energy describes the Fall Festival held at the Pataskala Seventh Day Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, October 29, 2017 from 4-6 pm. Due to the cooler weather, the festivities were moved indoors, with various games scattered in different rooms throughout the church. As guests entered, they were greeted with the Photo Spot where people could get their pictures taken with or without a variety of things to “accessorize” them. Several people went home with family pictures taken and printed while you wait. In addition, there were several carnival-type games for prizes including ring toss over pumpkins, Plinko, Tic-Tac-Toe beanbag toss, Bible Bingo, make-your-own paper airplane, and tossing ping pong balls into floating rings in a baby pool.

Four women from our church attended the annual
In addition to the teaching sessions, there was free time to enjoy the rustic and beautiful camp setting as well as fellowship with new and old friends. The weekend was a time to eat, sing, worship, pray, hug, talk, play, laugh, and learn together. By Sunday morning, the women were refreshed as they left to return home and also looking forward to next year!

Delegates from our church attended the 2017 SDB General Conference meetings in Azusa, CA held July 23-30, 2017. The theme was “Life On Mission” led by Conference President Patti Wethington. It was a week filled with a variety of activities including daily Bible Studies, evening worship services, featured guest speakers, workshops, women’s and youth banquets, denominational business, acceptance of 3 new churches into membership, interest committee meetings, choir & special music, testimonies, and more!
The new theme for the coming year was unveiled Saturday night by the incoming Conference President Dave Stall. It is “Less Talk, More Action”. We were challenged to take action throughout the year, not just talk about what we should do! Next year’s General Conference sessions will be held July 29-August 4, 2018 at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.
Are you empowered to run the race that God has set before you? Come and acquire tools to focus, train and engage in daily disciplines that will help you accomplish this goal! Sessions will be led by Brenda Rankhorn and Cate Abraham.
A gift of $10 is appreciated for the weekend – it helps buy the supplies we need for each retreat, but don’t stay away if you do not have the $10 – we’d rather have YOU than the money!
The Pataskala Seventh Day Baptist Church will host the annual SDB Appalachian Association activities June 23-25, 2017 at 12161 Broad St. SW in Pataskala. Association Moderator, Mark Pest, will be leading the weekend following the theme

Throughout the weekend, there will be ample opportunity to meet new friends and renew old acquaintances, worship together, Bible study, and fun for the whole family. We look forward to having you join us!

Members arrived in the Columbus area Thursday evening from New York, West Virginia, Florida, California, and Wisconsin to meet all day Friday and Saturday evening. (Ron attended remotely via conference call for this meeting.)
On Sabbath (Saturday) the members of General Council worshiped with the Pataskala SDB church and Pastor Andy Samuels gave an inspiring and motivating morning message entitled “The Great GOmission” based on Romans 1:8-16. Another General Council member, Ralph Mackintosh, used his Christian Illusionist talents during the children’s time to cleverly share the message “we are ALL important people in the church working together” .
